Three people were killed and one was injured in the shooting.
According to Brown Deer Police Chief Peter Nimmer, the suspect was not shot and no officers were hurt.
According to police, one 36-year old male also sustained injuries from being shot in his leg.
Nimmer stated that the incident began as a domestic dispute between two individuals, and that at least two victims knew each other.
Nimmer stated that the suspect was on the second floor balcony of the apartment when police arrived and started firing at officers.
Nimmer stated that while no officers were hurt, the vehicle housing the K-9 unit of the department was shot with gunfire. He also said that officers and the dog were not hit.
Nimmer claimed that one child was present in the apartment at the time of the domestic dispute, but is now safe and well with his family.
He also stated that there was a Facebook Live feed running during the shooting.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner stated that it would be performing autopsies on one adult male victim as well as one adult female victim.
