A 30-year-old was found with a stab wound to the upper body on Sunday evening in the Ville-Marie borough of Montreal. He was taken to hospital, but is expected to live.
Authorities were contacted around 8 p.m. Sunday evening by people who found a passerby with upper body injuries at the corner of Maisonneuve Boulevard West and Atwater Avenue in Montreal.
At the scene, the police found an injured but conscious 38-year-old man. He was taken to the hospital and his life is not in danger, according to Caroline Chèvrefils, media relations officer for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
For the moment, the causes that led to the attack of the victim are unknown. A perimeter has been erected and the scene is analyzed by investigators and members of the forensic identification. A canine unit was also dispatched to the scene.
Two possible witnesses will be interviewed by the police as part of the investigation. There have been no arrests so far.
