The Berlin police are using photos to find a previously unknown man who committed a particularly serious robbery in a drugstore in Berlin-Mitte in September 2021.
According to a joint statement from the police and the public prosecutor, the crime happened on September 27, 2021 at around 6.40 p.m. in a drugstore branch on Invalidenstrasse.
The man had therefore taken a medium double-digit number of originally packaged perfume bottles from the display and stowed them in a bag he had carried with him.
A saleswoman noticed this and asked the stranger to unpack the goods again and pay. The man then held out a syringe to the saleswoman, which he clearly held in his right hand.
Deterred by the threat, the seller made no further attempts to stop the theft, it said.
The unknown man left the store without paying for the goods. The incident was recorded by the store’s video surveillance system. Now the police are looking for the perpetrator with the surveillance images.
