The extreme temperatures in Germany are at least coming to an end for the time being. Temperatures will drop below 30 degrees everywhere on Saturday at the latest, as the German Weather Service announced on Thursday. In the coming week the heat would probably come back again, but according to the current status it will not be quite as hot as this week.
For Friday night, the DWD warns of thunderstorms, some of which can be violent. From France and the Benelux countries, strong thunderstorms could spread to western Germany. There was a threat of heavy rain and squalls, as well as hail at first.
According to the DWD, the thunderstorms can also combine to form a larger thunderstorm complex. The thunderstorms will also arrive in the north-east of the country by Friday morning. For Friday afternoon and evening, the meteorologists are also expecting severe thunderstorms in the south.
With the precipitation, a cold front moves in in many places and causes a significant drop in temperature to 20 to 25 degrees, especially in the north-west. Otherwise it will be humid and hot again with 30 to 35 degrees, especially from Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria to Saxony and Lusatia. There are some violent thunderstorms, and severe weather is also possible.
