A high school teacher at a private college in Montreal allegedly committed crimes of a sexual nature against six young people. Alexandre Gagné is notably accused of having sexually exploited and sexually assaulted a teenager over a period of three years.
The 48-year-old is an economics teacher at Collège Stanislas, a school that replicates the French system. According to the arrest warrant signed by a judge on Monday, Alexandre Gagné faces no less than 15 counts. He is due to appear this afternoon at the Montreal courthouse.
According to our information, the victims are students of the school.
The list of charges is long: sexual exploitation, sexual assault, computer luring, indecent actions, making sexually explicit material available to a child, extortion, and distributing cannabis. The alleged facts occurred between November 1, 2019 and December 31, 2022 with respect to six victims.
A teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and sexually exploited by the teacher, in addition to being forced to send him pictures of herself. The five other underage victims are said to have received sexually explicit material from the accused or were lured by him.
Alexandre Gagné is also accused of distributing cannabis to two minors, including a 16-year-old victim.
Alexandre Gagné has no criminal record, according to a search in the docket.
The College had not reacted at the start of the afternoon on Tuesday.
This is not the first time that a Stanislas College teacher has faced justice for crimes of a sexual nature. In 2019, physical education teacher Denis Tiffou was sentenced to 10 months in prison for possession of child pornography. He had 28,000 images and 2,800 videos of child pornography in his home.
