An ox sculpture, signed by the popular rock band Radiohead, will be featured in an upcoming charity auction. This unique sculpture, named Postb-ox, is one of 130 designs that have been displayed throughout Oxfordshire as part of the Ox Trail art sculpture exhibition.

The Ox Trail, which has been running for eight weeks, will come to an end on August 30. Following the conclusion of the trail, 43 of these unique designs will be auctioned off to raise important funds for the Sobell House Hospice.

Postb-ox is adorned with doodles and signatures from more than 20 well-known personalities, including members of Radiohead, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Prue Leith, Ben Shephard from This Morning, and Miriam Margoyles. The starting bid for this special sculpture is set at £1,300.

The auction will take place both online and in person at the Saïd Business School in Oxford. It will be hosted by celebrity auctioneer Thomas Forrester from the popular TV show Bargain Hunt. In addition to Postb-ox, other sculptures up for sale include children’s illustrator KorKy Paul’s Winnie and Wilbur-inspired ox, as well as international artist Amanda Quellin’s design inspired by the stained glass found in Oxford’s architecture. Both of these sculptures have starting bids of £2,500.

Beth Marsh, the director of fundraising at Sobell House Hospice, expressed her excitement for the auction, stating that it provides a wonderful opportunity to own a unique piece of art while also supporting the essential work carried out by the hospice. She encourages art enthusiasts and supporters of the hospice to participate in the auction and acquire one of these special ox sculptures.

Sobell House Hospice offers compassionate care to adults with life-limiting illnesses and provides support to their families. The hospice serves around 650 individuals across Oxfordshire, offering care at home, in its inpatient unit, in local hospitals, and through its Living Well service.

The auction is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 13 at 7.30pm. Tickets for the event, which include drinks, canapés, and entry, are priced at £50. Alternatively, interested bidders can register online and place their bids ahead of the auction.
