According to official information, all patients in North Korea who have been ill since the first Covid 19 infections were confirmed in May have recovered. On Friday there were no “fever cases” for the seventh day in a row, the state news agency KCNA said on Friday. North Korea speaks of “fever patients” in case reports, not “Covid patients” – apparently due to a lack of testing capacity.
In fighting the epidemic, North Korea has “entered a definitive phase of stability,” KCNA continued. However, the country will continue to increase the monitoring of “new Covid 19 sub-variants and various diseases” and can still mobilize medical staff “in the event of a crisis”, it said.
According to KCNA, almost 4.8 million corona infections and 74 deaths have been registered in North Korea since the end of April.
