NASA on Wednesday unveiled a prototype of the next generation of spacesuits – made by the company Axiom Space – which will be worn by the next astronauts to walk on the Moon.

“This is a great example of what innovation can accomplish,” said Peggy Whitson, astronaut and Ax-2 mission commander at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

“This suit will be much more flexible and (…) will really improve the ability of astronauts to carry out all the missions to be accomplished when they explore the lunar surface and, eventually, Mars,” she adds.
