Western-Siberian administration for Hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring found high levels of air pollution in several districts of Novosibirsk.
According to the Agency, 12 and 13 August in several parts of the city were exceeded the maximum permissible concentration of formaldehyde in the Central and Railway areas — by 1.5 times, in the Kirov region — in 1.3 times. Formaldehyde is an organic compound, a colorless gas with a sharp odor. In high concentrations it can be poisonous.
