Mercedes-Benz is recalling over 1.3 million vehicles since the applications inside their emergency-call systems can send fighters into the incorrect location after an accident
NEW YORK — Mercedes-Benz is remembering over 1.3 million vehicles since the applications inside their emergency-call systems can send fighters into the incorrect location after an accident.
The recall comes after Mercedes-Benz heard of an accident in Europe in which the automated emergency-call system delivered the incorrect place of the motor vehicle. It started an investigation in October 2019, and it finally found other similar incidents. A company spokesman stated that it found not one at the USA.
The organization’s Daimler Vans also announced recalls of 2016-2020 Metris automobiles and 2019-2020 Sprinter vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz explained it will notify affected owners and upgrade the applications systems free of cost, based on filings with the U.S. Department of Transportation. It expects to commence the recall on April 6.
