Malaysia Airlines is expanding its operations in Amritsar by increasing the flight frequency from four to seven times weekly starting from August 1, 2024. This decision is driven by the high demand for travel and the positive performance of the route. With this increase, Malaysia Airlines will now operate a total of 71 weekly flights to India.

The airline had previously doubled the frequency to Amritsar from two to four times weekly in January 2024, reflecting its confidence in the growing market. Amritsar was introduced as a new route in November 2023, along with Ahmedabad and Trivandrum. Additionally, the frequency of flights to Trivandrum was recently increased to four times weekly from April 3, 2024.
