Berlin is growing beyond itself. But how can we build sustainably, how are neighborhoods designed and urban quarters developed without concrete over the city and the surrounding area?

A panel of prominent figures will discuss the growing metropolis in the Urania on Wednesday. From 7.30 p.m. Urban Development Senator Andreas Geisel (SPD) and the President of the Chamber of Architects, Theresa Keilhacker, will answer questions from the Tagesspiegel author Robert Ide and the audience. At the beginning, architect Wiebke Ahues gives an introduction to the possibilities of ecological construction.

The debate in the large hall of the Urania will be broadcast live, available on Wednesday evening at tagesspiegel.de/berlin. Questions can be asked online at www.sli.do using the hashtag

The audience in the Urania (underground station Wittenbergplatz) can also contribute live. The debate takes place as part of the series “City in Conversation, Berlin in Transition” by the Tagesspiegel, Urania and the Chamber of Architects. Admission is free.
