The dispute over the budget for 2025 continues to intensify. Now the five ministers who demanded too much of the budget have been invited to the Chancellery. The budget should be in place by the cabinet meeting on July 3rd.

Finance Minister Christian Lindner wants to save, but five ministries have requested more budget for the 2025 budget. The five department heads have now been invited to meet Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Discussions will be held together with Lindner and Robert Habeck, reports “t-online”.

The five ministers are apparently Nancy Faeser (SPD), Svenja Schulze (SPD), Hubertus Heil (SPD), Annalena Baerbock (Greens) and Boris Pistorius (SPD). Their budget proposals are said to be around 20 billion euros too high.

What is particularly piquant is that, according to “t-online”, the individual state secretaries usually lead the negotiations on the budget. Now the individual ministers have to report to the traffic light head.

At the end of the talks with the heads of departments, each ministry should have an individual budget that meets Lindner’s savings proposals. It is not known when the talks will take place. The only thing that is certain is that the budget for 2025 must be in place by the cabinet meeting on July 3.
