Costco is loved by over 200,000 people who signed up to a Costco membership in Shanghai when it opened in 2019.
After receiving an unusually large number of customers who wanted to browse its bargain aisles, the store had to close within five hours.
Video footage from the opening day revealed chaos inside the store. The company apologized and promised to limit access.
In Suzhou, an eastern city near Shanghai, a second store will open in the next month.
