Cameron Norrie, a British tennis star, expects to feel more pressure after becoming a Masters champion. After recovering from a set loss, Norrie, 26, won his maiden Masters title after beating Nikoloz Basilashvili at Indian Wells.
Norrie was back in action in Vienna this week, where he defeated Marton Fucsovics to win his opener. Norrie currently holds the No. 1 ranking in the world, a record. He is currently ranked No. 14 in the world, but he isn’t satisfied and wants to be the number one. “I know that I will feel more pressure after winning the Masters 1000.
It is possible that the pressure will quadruple, as it is happening in Raducanu. But I’m ready to face it all. I want to be number 1. “I want to be No.1 in the world, and I’m ready for this path,” Norrie stated per Punto de Break.
Norrie is happy with British tennis’ current state
“British tennis has a great future and we are proud to inspire young Brits who want to be professional players.”
We are doing well as a nation. My goal is to be No. No. 1 in the world. My entire team works hard to make it happen. Norrie said that we have high expectations and will try our best to meet them.”
Former world No. 1 Andy Murray recently said that if he retired tommorow, British tennis would be in good hands with Norrie. Andy Murray, former world No. 1 said that if he retires today, British tennis would be in the good hands of Norrie. Murray stated that Cameron Norrie had had a great season and did really well. Murray said that he didn’t believe he had ever reached the quarter-finals in a Masters Series before. This is a great result for him, and a huge win for British tennis.
