A BER Airport Express broke down shortly before the Johannisthal S-Bahn station in Berlin due to damage to the overhead line. The regional train was on the way to Berlin on Sunday evening, said a spokeswoman for the train. According to the Berlin fire brigade, the train with around 250 to 300 passengers had to be evacuated on the open route.
The people were taken out of the “FEX” via ladders and had to walk the last few meters to the next train station. Nobody was injured. Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution.
