Aviva Investors has appointed Sandra Cheng as the new chief executive for Asia Pacific and head of Asia Pacific distribution, effective October 21. Cheng, who previously worked at Columbia Threadneedle, will be based in Singapore and report to Jill Barber, the chief distribution officer at Aviva Investors.

In other news, Shaw Yann Ho, the managing director and head of the Asian fixed income team at JP Morgan Asset Management, has left the firm after working there for about 14 years. Julio Callegari, the CIO of Asia fixed income, now leads the Asian fixed income team at JP Morgan.

Fidelity International has named Damien Mooney as the new managing director for Asia Pacific ex Japan, starting on October 28. Mooney, who previously worked at BlackRock, will report to Derek Young, the global head of asset management distribution at Fidelity International.

Mercer has promoted Adeline Tan to the newly created role of head of investments, Asia. Tan will focus on accelerating the growth of Mercer’s investment capabilities in Asia and will report to Graham Elliot, Asia wealth leader at Mercer. Chen Rupeng will succeed Tan in her previous role as Hong Kong wealth leader and head of retirement.

China Investment Corporation has appointed Dai Peng and Liao Qiang as members of the executive committee. Dai currently serves as the head of the asset allocation and business management department of CIC, while Liao is the head of the equity management department II and equity management department III of Central Huijin.

Colonial First State has hired Chloé Brayne as the head of private equity and unlisted assets. Brayne joins from Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) and will report to chief investment officer Jonathan Armitage.

Manulife Investment Management has appointed Calvin Lim to the newly created role of alternatives investment specialist in Singapore. Lim will support the development of private market capabilities in Asia.

Fiera Capital Corporation has named John Cappetta as the managing director and head of Asia, excluding Japan and Korea. Cappetta, who previously worked at Ninety One and Julius Baer, will report to Rob Petty, the executive director, and CEO of Fiera Capital Asia.

Lastly, India’s Shriram Asset Management Company has hired Sudip More as the fund manager for fixed income investments. More will oversee the management of Shriram AMC’s fixed income and debt schemes, working closely with Deepak Ramaraju, the senior fund manager.
