The Guyana Amazon Warriors have made some exciting additions to their squad for the upcoming ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League. West Indian players Mark Deyal, Shamar Springer, and Roston Chase have all joined the team for the tournament, which will take place from November 26 to December 7. The Super League will see the Amazon Warriors compete against four other international franchises for a chance to win a US $1 million prize.
Shamar Springer and Roston Chase previously played for different franchises in the 2024 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League. Chase, who had a successful campaign with the St Lucia Kings, showcased his skills with both bat and ball throughout the tournament. In the final match, Chase played a crucial role by scoring an unbeaten 39 runs off 22 balls to help secure a victory for the Kings over the Amazon Warriors. On the other hand, Springer had a standout performance for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, finishing as the team’s top wicket-taker with 12 dismissals.
Meanwhile, Mark Deyal, who was set to play for the Trinbago Knight Riders, unfortunately missed out on the tournament due to injury. However, he is now ready to showcase his talent with the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Super League.
Apart from the newly signed players, the Amazon Warriors will also have the likes of Shimron Hetmyer, Keemo Paul, Romario Shepherd, and West Indies ODI captain Shai Hope in their squad for the tournament. This strong lineup of regional and international talent promises an exciting competition ahead.
The full squad for the Guyana Amazon Warriors includes Imran Tahir as captain, along with players like Moeen Ali, Shai Hope, Dwaine Pretorius, Hassan Khan, Tanzim Hasan Khan, Kevlon Anderson, Keemo Paul, Mark Deyal, Romario Shepherd, Roston Chase, Shimron Hetmyer, and Shamar Springer.
