Manchester United’s Premier League match with Brentford on Tuesday was postponed due to a Covid-19 epidemic at Old Trafford.
According to the league, the decision was taken “as a result of guidance received from medical advisors in light of exceptional circumstances” resulting from the outbreak.
To reduce the chance of infection, United had to close down their operations on Carrington’s training ground.
The past week has seen positive results from 42 Premier League football players and staff.
After a Covid-19 epidemic at Spurs, Brighton, Tottenham and Leicester confirmed their cases, Sunday’s fixture between Tottenham and Brighton was postponed.
