A41 Road Closure at Waddesdon: What Drivers Need to Know

The A41 road closure at Waddesdon is causing disruptions for motorists traveling between Aylesbury and Waddesdon, and onto Bicester. The closure, which began over the weekend, is expected to last until the early hours of Tuesday (17/9/24) due to HS2 workers accidentally damaging a gas pipe that now requires repairs.

Councillor Paul Irwin spoke to Bucks Radio about the situation, stating that an emergency full road closure is necessary for safety reasons while repairs are carried out in collaboration with Southern Gas Network (SGN). The affected section of the road will be between the Fleet Marston Roundabout and Waddesdon, with traffic being diverted to the route used during the previous weekend’s closure.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, as local county roads are experiencing increased traffic as a result of the closure. HS2 has been approached for further comments on the matter.
