At the beginning of March, entrepreneur Reinhold Würth warned all of his employees about the AfD in a letter. Now the billionaire is expressing his concerns about the upcoming European elections and describes the traffic light coalition as a “chicken pile”.
In view of the upcoming European elections on June 9th, Reinhold Würth is very worried about a shift to the right in the EU. “As a ten-year-old, I experienced the end of the NSDAP,” says the entrepreneur in an interview with “ZDF”. “And I see the danger that Brexit will be followed by further efforts to disrupt the European Union as much as possible, perhaps even destroy it.” Würth himself says he is an “almost fanatical European.”
With a view to the upcoming state elections in Germany, Würth recommends that everyone should be aware of their “political responsibility”. “I recommend every citizen to inform themselves,” said the screw billionaire and added with regard to the traffic light coalition: “And if you can think to some extent, then you have to say that the current federal government is really not the ideal situation .”
From the entrepreneur’s point of view, the traffic light is “a catastrophe” for the mood in Germany. “They run around like a bunch of chickens. And the Chancellor then acts as the referee,” says Würth in the “ZDF” interview. In view of this, the uncertainty among the population is understandable.
The billionaire recently made headlines when he recommended in a circular to his approximately 25,000 employees not to vote for the AfD. He received praise for this action, but also criticism, and according to his own statement, he lost 1.5 million euros in sales.
