Saturday, the New York Giants appointed Kevin Abrams as senior vice president of football operations strategy and operations.
Abrams (50) is entering his 24th season as a Giants player. Abrams was a salary-cap analyst for 3 seasons, and has been an assistant general manager for 20. In 2018, he was promoted to vice president of football operations.
Abrams worked in college scouting as well as the pro personnel department. Abrams was responsible for strategic planning, compliance to the NFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), data and innovation, managed salary caps, and negotiated player contracts.
Joe Schoen, general manager of the organization, said Saturday that Kevin has been an indispensable resource for him and his staff. Kevin will assist with the administration, strategy, and day-to-day operations of the football team.”
Abrams joined the Giants from the NFL Management Council in 1999. There, he monitored the league’s salary cap and analysed all player contracts.
