Police said that a man who shot and killed two people in an apartment building in Milwaukee died from a self-inflicted gunshot injury.
The shooting that occurred Saturday morning left three people dead, one of whom was the suspect. One other person was also injured. Police chief Peter Nimmer from Brown Deer said that it started as a “domestic conflict”.
He claimed that the suspect, aged 26, shot himself. He was then taken to hospital where he later died.
Nimmer stated that a man aged 31 and a woman aged 23 were also shot to death. A 36-year old man was also shot in the leg.
He said that a child living in the apartment had not been hurt.
Nimmer stated that he didn’t know the “relationships between all involved.”
The Park Plaza Court apartments were occupied by police shortly after 10:10 a.m. Officers were called to the Park Plaza Court apartments shortly after 10 a.m. The suspect opened fire on officers from the second floor, but no officers were injured. A police car was also hit. Nimmer stated that no officers fired back and officers only heard one more round afterward — most likely the self-inflicted shot.
Local news outlets reported that ambulances, fire departments and police vehicles were seen parked outside the apartment complex. A Milwaukee County medical examiner was also called to the scene.
