Below is a list curated by The Associated Press’ entertainment reporters of what’s on TV, streaming services, and music platforms this week.

MOVIES

Questlove’s The Summer of Soul (…or When the Revolution could not be Televised)” would sound and look great on a big screen with a loud sound system. It’s currently playing in theaters across the country on Friday. You can stream the film on Hulu if you prefer a party at your home. This film explores the 1969 Harlem concert series “Black Woodstock”, which featured performances by Nina Simone and Stevie Wonder. The Harlem Cultural Festival, which was not as well-known as any other music festival in that summer, is given a new, glorious life by “Summer of Soul.”

Don Cheadle is the leader of an impressive ensemble that includes Kieran Culkin and David Harbour, Jon Hamm (Amy Seimetz), Jon Hamm, Amy Seimetz. Brendan Fraser, Noah Jupe. Ray Liotta. Bill Duke, Ray Liotta and Matt Damon in Steven Soderbergh’s 1950s Detroit crime drama “No Sudden Move.” A series of double crosses that reveals some of the fundamental injustices of Detroit’s. It is one of the most ambitious movies ever shot during the pandemic and will be released in Detroit. This film returns Soderbergh to Detroit 23 years after “Out of Sight” was shot.

This week’s streaming service competition is fierce. Netflix premieres “Fear Street,” the first in a trilogy of horror films. Universal’s Peacock presents “Boss Baby: Family Business,” an animated sequel. There’s also “Werewolves Within,” an indie comedy featuring Sam Richardson and Milana Vayntrub, which can be rented digitally. Amazon’s biggest success is perhaps its launch of the summer sci-fi spectacle “The Tomorrow War” on Friday. Amazon bought the film from Paramount Pictures earlier this year for $200 million. Chris Pratt plays the role of a soldier sent to the future in 2052 to defeat an alien invasion.

MUSIC

Lana Del Rey will release a new album on Friday. Yes, that’s correct. The pop singer released “Chemtrails over the Country Club”, in March, and then four months later, she will release “Blue Banisters,” her eighth album. It includes the singles “Text Book,” Wildflower Wildfire, and the title track. Del Rey teased her new album by posting a 30 second video to Twitter. She wrote: “I’m writing mine own story. It’s mine to tell it.”

Although “Pose”, the series, has ended, you will still be able to hear the amazing music of Billy Porter on the “Red Hot + Free” album by the HIV/AIDS-fighting non-profit Red Hot. This double album features songs by Gloria Gaynor and SOFI TUKKER. The Ally Coalition, Trevor Project, and SAGE will benefit from the proceeds of the album.

TELEVISION

According to Disney+’s “Wolfgang”, (now streaming) — Wolfgang Puck’s restaurants and brand are ubiquitous, but this success required determination. Puck, who was born in Austria, says that his stepfather told him that he would never be successful or a “real men” if he didn’t leave the kitchen. It was the only place where he felt at home. He was unflinching and continued to impress celebrities and other chefs with his innovative cuisine. Puck claims he is at a point in his life where he can relax — he will be 72 on July 8, — but he wants the opposite.

Cush Jumbo, a mother who lost her child in a hit-and-run incident, is determined to get rid of the man responsible. The six-part series “The Beast must Die” was adapted from the Nicholas Blake novel. Frances forms a friendship with George Rattery’s family (Jared Harris) after the police drop the case. She wants to kill him unless Detective Nigel Strangeways, Bill Howle, can solve the case. The series premieres Monday, July 5 on AMC+ streaming service and cable channel AMC at 10:00 EDT July 12.

Two July Fourth specials will be lit up by fireworks and stars on Sunday. PBS’ 41st” A Capitol Fourth” (check local station for time), featuring host Vanessa Williams. It features prerecorded performances from Gladys Knight and Jimmy Buffett as well as performances by Alan Jackson, Cynthia Erivo and Renee Fleming, along with the Joint Armed Forces Concert. The program will close with live pyrotechnics above Washington. NBC’s 45th Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular will feature music from Black Pumas and Coldplay, as well as fireworks from barges along New York’s East River.
