A 15-year-old girl had a scary encounter when a man approached her with a knife in a town centre road. The incident took place late on Thursday, July 18, when the man demanded her possessions. Luckily, a passerby intervened, and the man fled without taking anything from the girl. The police are now asking for any witnesses to come forward.

The girl was walking along Seaside Road in Eastbourne near the junction with Southbourne Road when the attempted robbery occurred at around 9 pm. Sussex Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe is connected to the incident.
